Seligman recognizes that your personal information is yours, not ours. We are committed to protecting your privacy and our policies and practices are designed to do just that. For the most part, we (or Seligman Data Corp., the shareholder servicing agent for the Seligman Funds and Tri-Continental Corporation) only collect personal information about you that you or your financial advisor have given us. For example, when you fill out an application, call us with questions or otherwise make an inquiry, you provide us with information about yourself. We also receive information about you as part of the normal administration of your account, such as from account changes, legal documents, or government notices. In addition, we may obtain information about you from third parties in order to service your account.*
The personal information we collect includes items such as your name, Social Security/ Tax ID number, and address. And of course, we maintain records about your account transaction history.
Information About You That We May Disclose
We disclose your personal information to third parties only as permitted by law. From time to time, we may provide any of the information we collect about you to third parties in connection with (i) preparing and mailing fund-related materials, such as prospectuses and annual reports and (ii) proxy solicitations, shareholder surveys, or other services related to the Seligman Funds and Tri-Continental Corporation.

For instance, we must disclose personal information to government agencies, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, or the Treasury Department in response to subpoenas; and we will disclose personal information to other third parties at your direction.
If you sell your shares or become an inactive shareholder, we continue to adhere to these same privacy policies and procedures.

We take steps to safeguard your personal information. We restrict access to your personal information to employees and service providers involved in administering or serving your account. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information. When you contact us by phone, we perform a security check to protect against fraud and guard against unauthorized access to your account(s). When we make information available to you or your financial advisor over the Internet, we use Internet data encryption technology, an advanced security protocol known as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, personalized passwords, and other precautions.
